[Update] Resolved! Click for information.
First and foremost, I want to clarify a couple of things:
- I did not get banned or reprimanded — They just blocked my IP address from further access to their website and forums.
- I am not a show-off — I post my “hauls” on my Flickr.
- I am not a “flipper” — So don’t expect to see me on eBay or something selling. (If you want, there’s already someone on there that’s selling from HIS case of GT’s!)
- With that being said: Yes, another case of GT has been revealed. So, I’m not the only person with such “luck”.
- I do not have “pulls” or “hook-ups” nor am I in any affiliation with anyone in KR — I’m just another regular customer who can only purchase from them via online.
- There are no legal actions being taken place — They have an “All sales at Kidrobot are final” policy that restricts them from taking back the case on their own will.
On Monday evening (Sept. 29th), I saw the notice on the board about the Board Member promotion. So, like any a lot of members on there, I took advantage of this. I noticed that the Case Special was still applied, so I purchased a case of Series 5 Dunnys plus a few extra blind boxes just for kicks and giggles. The “Free shipping over $55 purchase” was still active, and I (of course!) chose to use it. With UPS Ground shipping, it took a whole week to be delivered. But some shit happened at the nearby UPS facility, so my package ended up being delivered a day late.nnLike it was Christmas morning, I ransacked the blind boxes first. I pulled 1 Kathie Olivas, 1 Huck Gee (chase), and 1 Kozik (chase) — Plus other commons. Putting those aside, I slid my sealed case towards me. Cut through the plastic wrapping, and opened the box. The first box I pulled — Huck Gee GT. WTF?! I knew a couple of other people pulled one or two, but for me to pull one as well boggled me. Onto the second box, another GT. Then I decided to “cherry pick” through the case… Lo and behold, more GT’s! I was beginning to get frustrated because my mindset was on getting more Kathie’s. So I went through all the boxes, and they were all… GT’s. I looked at the case, itself, to see if by any chance this is a special case. Nope, it looks exactly like a regular blind box case of Series 5. The barcode on it is exactly like the barcodes on the other cases I purchased from them. I didn’t know what to do, so I contacted KR for some explanation and if they wanted it back. No replies all day, so like the other members who pulled GT’s, I posted on the board about my case… I even posted on my Flickr because I know that a lot of toy collectors are on there, and I was hoping someone had some kind of answer.
If you follow me on Flickr, then you know how I am with toy (or anything I buy!) hauls. So, even if I didn’t post a comment or my photos on the threads, somebody would eventually do it. It’s just in a matter of time, word will get out.
Anyway!
I began receiving PM’s about selling/trading them. The thought had not crossed my mind in doing so. I just wanted to hear from KR on how they were going to handle this. I did make comments to address to everyone (in hopes that it’ll pause the incoming PM’s), that I will make a decision on what I will do with them AFTER I receive word from KR (if any). I guess a lot of people ignored those comments because PM’s kept piling up, so I decided to just log off for the remainder of the evening. I was just THAT tired about the whole thing.
The next day, I get online and find out how it turned into a huge fiasco. Questions went unanswered. Comments were being deleted as well as a number of threads pertaining to the GT case. It also went as far as admins/mods making threats to board members. Seriously, where is the professionalism in that? Yes, there were a lot of questions, and quite a lot of assumptions… But the fact of the matter is that people just wanted an answer: Is it the Golden Ticket or a variant. Instead of addressing some sort of formal statement, they just took actions into their own hands. Maybe they were tired of things being said about their company and how they royally screwed up. Maybe in their world, going “Big Brother” on everyone will cover up their tracks. I don’t know!
Sometime yesterday, I guess someone finally posted on behalf of KR (thanks to someone who forwarded it to me):
Here is the information I was given thus far, I will follow up with more details as I get them.
“It recently came to the attention of Kidrobot that the Dunny Series 5 Golden Ticket Dunny by Huck Gee was mistakenly released and as a result has caused quite a whirlwind of speculation. At the moment, Kidrobot is still trying to gather more information on the matter, but we assure all of that we will come to a resolution as soon as possible and report back with all the answers to your questions. Kidrobot apologizes for the delay in response. We are simply trying to understand the scope of the issue.”

I wanted to make a comment in thanks that they finally said something and also wanted to see any updates on sales/trades on duplicates I have of Tado’s FunFair and Series 5 commons. Instead I kept getting an error message. I thought maybe their website was down or that it could just be my internet connection. Was it the either two? Nope, I was able to access other websites but KR’s. Later, I tried logging in via someone’s iPhone… Oh, what?! I can view the website!! Wow… Is that serious that they had to ban my IP address? Is this their way in trying to stop me from speaking my mind? Hm… That’s not cool.nnI believe that KR needs some attitude adjustments, let alone improvement on their moral and ethics. The lack of customer service needs some looking into as well, especially with communication. I’m not saying I hate KR and that I’m boycotting them or anything like that… I’m just a new collector who started June of this year, but to be treated in such a way is quite discouraging. I love the Dunny series, and I would love to continue building my collection… Now that I don’t have access to their site, I have to go elsewhere? It’s OK, though. There are other online shops that loves doing business with me! LOL.
Am I sorry that I got the case? No, I paid for a case — so I got a case. Am I at fault for all of that’s happened within the last week? No. Do I deserve such actions taken upon myself by KR? No. So, why am I being treated unjustly?
Because they had not respond to me, possibly due to their sales policy, the case is mine. What I am or will do with them is to my own discretion. This is the one and only time I will speak of this subject. From here on out, no more. I truly hope that everyone will understand and respect that.
The end.

Wow what a huge deal over *toys*, something that’s supposed to be FUN!
If you do ever decide to sell or give away any of the GT’s I would love to trade or something :D
If you ever get back on the boards… I’m Vinyljustice! :)
Sorry everything got crazy…
The professionalism really did go out the window. It’s a shame that they’ve now blocked your IP - that really is the absolute worst that they could have done, especially with no warning.
It’s not your fault that you got the case, and you did absolutely nothing besides ask for an answer as to what you received. You offered to return it, and you were completely civil in all posts. This really is completely out of control.
Anyway, I’m glad that at least one cool thing came from this whole fiasco - I found your blog! Good reads so far, and I’ll keep you subscribed in my RSS reader to follow other stuff that you’re up to.
LOL. Great blog. Look forward to reading more!
See you around Flickr. ;]
I can’t believe that did that.
It sucks that your IP seems to have been blocked by KR… But as you can get most (if not all with prior notice) Kidrobot stuff from Schmancy, they may have given you a good reason to support local places…
The reason why they blocked you is because they don’t want to look like fucking idiots. But guess what? They already do. With all the things I’ve seen from them, harassing members that they will be deleted if they speak of it again, and banning you, they are very unprofessional. They should just fess up, breathe, and move the fuck on. I swear. Children must be running the factory.
I created a petition to get you back on the forums riza :D
Hopefully it works.

I am dumbfounded that they would go so far as to ban your IP for THEIR mistake. Hopefully this gets sorted out for you and they let you back on the board, but if I was in your shoes I wouldn’t be so sure I’d want to come back.
If you’re looking for another forum for toy discussion I would recommend this one http://octobertoys.com/forum/index.php drama free, just good toy talk.
Man I really feel for you, what KR done is just harsh…at least you got the deciency to not go to evil bay to auction them off unlike the other guy…
If you’re still building a KO army let me know i’d love to trade one of those GT dunny’s from ya if you ever get rid of any, see ya around, if ya get back to da boards im evo_edd
laters
How discouraging for them to treat you like that, especially a new collector such as myself. :( If those are the GTs, wonder why they make the GT holders til next year to collect?
Anyway, I signed the petition and hope they unban you soon.
Nice new haircolor btw! You’ve inspired me to color mine too!
don’t worry riza! we all support you and know you didn’t do anything wrong. you’re a good person and karma has a great way of making things work out right.
Hello, everyone.
First and foremost, I want to thank you all for taking the time in reading my post and sharing your opinions. I also want to thank those who helped by suggesting options that in what I can do about all of this.
There are things I want to direct:
1) There’s no technical error on my part — I, seriously, cannot view the site or any sites that are a part of it. However, I have viewed the site (without any problems) using other people’s computers or internet connections. The thing is, I don’t want to depend on them just so I can go on a certain website. Yes, they are more than willing to let me, BUT I don’t want to be of any inconvenience to them.
2) No, I am not making this all up and trying to bring more attention to myself. Yes, it feels nice to be acknowledged to be a part of some tomfoolery of a worldwide-known company, but to have the spotlight is a bit uncomfortable for me. I prefer to going back to being another regular toy collector instead of “the girl who got a GT case.” I know this title will follow from here on out, what’s done is done. We can’t go back and hit “delete” from history, but it does not mean we have to continue living in it. Instead, we all need to look ahead and keep moving forward.
3) I have tried to reset my router and wireless connection at my home, but that failed to work. I have tried to change the IP myself, but that failed as well. I have contacted my internet provider, they offered to change it for me, but I told them I’ll consider it and will get back to them. The reason why I choose not to change my IP at this point is that I’m giving them a chance to resolve this themselves. For all I know, it can be some kind of a mix-up or that my IP address happens to have the same “starting range” that is being blocked due to a possible breach… (or whatever one of my geeky friends was trying to explain to me last night.) There are a number of “what if’s” that can explain all of this. Like all issues, there are solutions.
If it is a mistake made, then so be it — all can be forgiven. The person(s) who are administering the site are indeed human, after all… And as humans, we all do make mistakes. I’m not one to bear grudges upon others, especially when there are way more important things happening in the world that needs more attention directed to.
Despite how things have been going on, I’m choosing to stay positive and not let all of this get the best of me. Yes, I did express my frustration, but never did I say “I hate KR!” I’m choosing to let bygones be bygones and, hopefully, move on. This may sound strange, especially how unfair I’m being treated, but I find no reason to become cynical. After all, I’m just another collector possibly bordering as a completist. A fresh one considering I just started in June, but no different from one who has been collecting for years. I’m not one to look at a collective item and see the value the almighty dollar gives it, I see the value of admiration in someone’s work. I love looking at all of my Dunnys, Labbits, Scavengers, etc. Even though I see them every day, I’m always in awe with all the work and time spent in creating such designs — Such dedications. It feels great having to walk into my own place and see my collection, or “museum” and “toy store” as my friends call it. No words can sum up the thrill and accomplishment in opening a package of a new addition. It’s amazing! I love those feelings, and I’m not going to let all of this take that away from me… And I hope for the same for all the collectors out there.
Lastly, I want to personally thank everyone that has helped me so far in building my collection. I want to also extend this gratitude who have been standing up for me on boards, as well as making a petition (?) which I’ve been hearing about from people I stay in contact outside the board. I didn’t realize how far this has become. I truly am touched by it all, and I hope no repercussion will be taken out on any of you… You’re all the greatest and wish I can give each of you hug. Well, here’s a cyber one: *HUGS!* Haha.
Anyway, I want this to be over and done with so I can go back to collecting. Damnit! LOL.
My best regards to you all,
“rizadette”
First off, good on ya for not being bitter about this whole thing. Not many people would have such a positive outlook in this kind of situation. Secondly, I really hope the block was just a mistake, accident, or glitch. Perhaps all the PM’s asking for your Hucks overloaded KR’s server(the forums are not really known for being terribly reliable…DEBUG anyone?)
Anyway, I hope you can get back to the boards soon. We need more positivity there. :)
I’m sure folks have already let you know, but even Huck is posting aboot it now…
Sorry all the craziness is happening. They’re just toys, you know?
Dig that you’re keeping positive though.
In case, you haven’t heard: I’m back on the board. My response to one of the threads explains everything:
[...] blogger BelaResa reports, KidRobot didn’t respond to any customer service inquiries for a period of time, so she [...]
